Puppies
Puppies are cute - pick a healthy and sound one!
Your puppies purchase price may be a smidgen of what you spend over the lifetime of your dog. Think ahead to 12 - 13 years of veterinary bills and the importance of selecting a puppy whose ancestors have been screened for common health issues which have a genetic basis.
AKC registration simply means that the sire and dam of your keeshond are the same breed. It does NOT guarantee health, temperament, structural soundness or breeding quality.
The best source of a healthy, well-socialized puppy is a conscientious breeder with a long-term commitment to the breed and a reputation to uphold.
Choosing a Reputable Breeder
Buckeye Keeshond Club members are required to abide by the Keeshond Club of America Code of Ethics. Prospecive puppy buyers should review this document to understand the commitment made by reputable breeders, and types of questions that should be considered.
